[Chess_General_Discussion] World Chess Championship round 1 [All Games Drawn]

Anand - Gelfand was a Petroff that ended in a short draw. Looks like
Vishy wasn't in the mood to fight today. Hopefully that will change as
the tournament progresses.

Kramnik - Svidler looked like it was going to promise some fireworks,
as the Botvinnik variation of the semi-slav was defined (5.Bg5), but
instead of going in for complications by playing 6.Bh4, Kramnik chose
the safer, but less ambitious exchange line 6.Bxf6. This game was
short and sweet as well and a draw was agreed upon after move 23.

Morozevich - Aronian was a Queen's Indian defense (nobody seems to be
allowing the Nimzo Indian these days). Morozevich went into the
endgame a pawn up, but Aronian characteristically defended well and
this game ended in a draw also after 25 moves.

Grischuk - Leko was a Ruy Lopez in which Peter seemed interested in
playing a Marshall Attack after 7...0-0. But Grischuk avoided this
invitation it with the safe 8.h3 and yet ANOTHER short draw was the
result.
